When is going to stop?

Hello, my name is Patricia, I`m writing this letter to show you my concern about how our society take the crime as an issue, that most of us are get use to look this, like something that ussualy happend, in other words, we show that it is not our concern because we can`t do nothing.

I realize that our laws are not equal for all of us, and most of them are unfair. If we want to stop the crime, you as Goverment should put in orden this law, to make severes punishments for those crimes that affects in all sense our society.

Nowadays are free criminals around us, most of them are young people even kids of 12 or 13 years old are in jail, and after one week and less they are free. Is there any security for us?. In my opinion, I don`t think so, just because they are young doesn`t mean that they are not going to commint the same crime.

Honestly there are many reassons proving that I`m right. If you create a law saying that the punishment for young criminals is going to be severe, for exalmple 5 years in jail if the person already commint the same crime, no days, allthough years. Criminals in general would think this twice before do something illegal, and all this not only for young people but for adults as well.

To sum up. Crime in Chile it is not longer in the Govermet hands, it is in our hands too, to teach and see what is right, maybe it is not enoght, but we must do something, I put an example about punishment, but it is not the only solution to fix all this, alltough there is another big issue called "education"....

hi!
I really liked your post because you mentioned a point I didn't want to.
I didn't write about rich people's issues with crime for the simple reason that we live in a world in which rich people rules. Celebrities and people with high incomes don't get the same treatment and, even worse, the same punishments as poor people; for instance, famous people in car accidents, they can run over someone, exceed speed limits or anything and don't go to jail.
well...that's it.
see you!
